Today, you worked on locating a commercial you liked, pasting that address on a word page, and then answering the questions that I gave you fully (flipping the question into the beginning of the statement). These are due for Wednesday. I have posted the questions below for those who were absent.

Commercials

1. What is the product being sold?
2. What is the name of the company selling it?
3. What is happening in the commercial (summarize it)?
4. Who is the target audience for this commercial? Explain why you think this group you’ve chosen is the target audience.
5. Does the ad use any gimmicks to sell their product? If so, what are they?
6. Does the ad use any weasel words to sell their product? If so, what are they?
7. Does the ad use any unfinished comparisons to sell their product? If so, what are they?
8. Does the ad give a “new” or “improved” claim to sell their product? If so, what is it?
9. Does the ad use sound or auditory appeal to sell their product? What is it (jingles, songs that might be of interest to a certain audience, etc).
10. Which of the following advertising appeals is the ad using?
