You then were given the article "Marketing to Teens and Tweens" which you were to read actively (highlighting main points, highlighting then defining key words, highlighting possible thesis). Today you were given the reading "Advertising: It's Everywhere" to read. Once finished, you were given questions to answer. These questions needed to be answered FULLY (meaning flipping the question into a statement and putting that on your page. I also wanted this typed using the computers in the room (ICT outcomes).
After this, you were to work on your definitions and any words present in the readings as you will have a quiz on this tomorrow. If you were not here, the readings and questions are in your portfolio. Come in in the morning to retrieve them (study the reading's terms as well as general terms).

Today, we watched a clip from Friends and discussed who the audience might be, as well as what product placement is and what we found in it. I then handed out a sheet relating to the viewing of Saturday Night Life yesterday. You had to calculate the number of commercial segments there were, the average number of commercials per segment, and then group the commercials you saw into categories. You then had to determine the type of viewer the marketers think watch this show.
If you were not here, you need to do this activity watching an hour long show at home.
This is due on Monday.
