Today, we worked further on functional writing in order to prepare you for your written final exam on Monday. You will write this exam during class time. You will then write your multiple choice comprehension exam on Thursday, June 23, at 1:00 p.m., in room 103 (our regular class).

Today, I introduced modern drama to you. In doing this, we discussed the Industrial Revolution and the changes in society that led to changes in the theatre (contrasting this period to Shakespearean drama). I then introduced the play A Thousand Clowns. If you were not here, the handout is in your portfolio and the book is on my desk.
